The TRIO Program exists to impact student success and retention by providing services, programs, and activities that support the transition, engagement and developmental needs of students in the areas of social and academic acclimation; community development; civic engagement; and, academic, personal, and leadership development.

 

Our commitment to the success of every student is demonstrated through the caring, compassionate, supportive, and challenging interactions that our staff engages in on a daily basis with students.

 

The TRIO Program staff provides a variety of programs, services and opportunities to students:

 

College Success Support – The TRIO Program employs College Success Specialists who work with individual students who have demonstrated risk factors that may jeopardize their success, and ultimately graduation, at Cheyney University. Specifically, students who score low on the ENGAGE® Assessment of Non-cognitive Risk Factors (such as time management, study skills, etc.), students who have earned a GPA below 2.0, students who have had a dramatic decrease in their GPA, and students referred through the early alert system, will be assigned a College Success Specialist to help them identify their challenges and develop a plan for success.
